  1. Cyclone Idai aid – Ubuntu Malawi is in the process of incorporating. We currently are working with a locally based NGO Umunthu Foundation Malawi. Our present project that is ongoing is focusing on assisting rural citizens of Malawi who were affected by Cyclone idai floods. Our local partner having accessed the damage and loss of life and property has requested that we assist by providing equipment to rebuild infrastructures such as roads, schools and community places. Also, there is a need to provide isolated institutions like clinics with equipment such as beds, ambulances, wheelchairs and so forth. We are in the process of securing such donations from the people of Japan and engaging the relevant authorities in providing needed funding for transportation. The equipment provided is to be used on sustainable projects that benefit the community. Progress reports will be due to the Japanese donors through set channels.

  1. Cyclone Idai aid – Of the three countries affected by the cyclone Mozambique suffered the most devastation. Nonprofit Organization Ubuntu is working with the city of Beira where we have our base office. From Beira, we will reach affected rural areas to provide assistance as needed and work with locally based organizations and communities in re-building effort. From the west side we will operate from Zimbabwe. As in Malawi and Zimbabwe in Mozambique also our primary and present project that is ongoing is focusing on assisting rural citizens of Mozambique who were affected by Cyclone idai floods. We have been requested to assist by providing equipment to rebuild infrastructures such as roads, schools and community places.

zimbabwe

  1. Zimbabwe is our regional base due to its location and the good networks we have cultivated in the country. We have carried out successful projects in Zimbabwe and will hopefully build on this experience as we take on new projects. In progress is the Cyclone idai project. We are also at the same stage as Mozambique and Malawi. That is we have been requested to assist by providing equipment to rebuild infrastructures such as roads, schools and community places. Also, there is a need to provide isolated institutions like clinics with equipment such as beds, ambulances, wheelchairs and so forth.                                                                      We are in the process of securing such donations from the people of Japan and engaging the relevant authorities in providing needed funding for transportation.
