WHO ARE WE

Partnering with YOU to build a better world where all children have a fighting chance at life.

Our mission as a Japanese Nonprofit Organization is to contribute in a sustainable way to the improvement of lives of Africans in the spirit of “Ubuntu”.

As Volunteers we organized the collection of English books in Japan and sent them to Southern African countries in the SADC region as “Toshokan Sensei ”  Library Teacher. This organization was the predecessor of the Nonprofit Organization Ubuntu. We also donated clothes, blankets and dishes.

In 2018 we registered in Kanagawa Japan as Nonprofit Organization Ubuntu. We expanded the scope of our activities to cover SDGs specifically Education, Agriculture, Nutrition and Sanitation.

NPO Corporation Ubuntu is a Japan registered NPO whose head office is in Kanagawa Japan. Since our primary area of focus is Southern Africa (SADC region) South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Angola, DR Congo, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Mauritius, Madagascar and Zimbabwe, we have a network or are in the process of establishing branches in some of these countries and work with community based organizations such as schools and churches.

Our Mission

NPO Ubuntu seeks to sustainably support child-headed and vulnerable rural households in the SADC region. Our mission as a Japanese Nonprofit Organization is to contribute in a sustainable way to the improvement of the lives of Africans in the spirit of “ubuntu”.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see the young, old, orphaned, disabled and other vulnerable groups in the SADC region living comfortably and with dignity like everyone else. We draw our inspiration from the Nguni phrase “Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu” which translates to “I am because you are, and you are because we are”.

Our Partners

The NPO has been working in partnership with a number of organizations on various projects. This is also in line with the ubuntu philosophy of no man stands alone.
